In both Canada and the US we try to maximize the word freedom. I can come up with all sorts of reasons why I feel there is a need for government and I can also come up with all sorts or reasons why there isn't.

I read of a child whose parents only consumed raw vegetables The child died of starvation. The people practiced what they felt was healthy life style. Without laws that govern children this group would soon die off so there is no need of government intervention this is called self extinction. Moving this incident to prior period when cave man wandered on the planet we now have natural selection. Today there is a moral issue here, Do we stand by as this group destroys itself or do we go in and try to save lives?

The difficulty in not having any form of government with rules is how do you ensure an environment exists in which all people can prosper? The complexity of government breeds from self-interest and if you speak of anarchy as the proper method you are assuming that the law of chaos will eventually create harmony. Governments singular purpose should be to enforce laws that are fair.

Anarchy theoretically is an ideal concept. However from a mother’s point of view voluntary cooperation is not inborn in people. Self-survival is in born. That means that if Johnny wants Sues toy and if he has not learned how to control his actions he is apt to whack Sue on the head to get the toy. At this point government in the form of a Teacher Parent comes in and mediates. That mediator attempts to show that consideration for and sharing of is a much better solution than a maiming another person.

Theoretically anarchy would work if the education system were broad enough and strong enough to instill a sense of respect and care for others humans. Realistically a teacher who attempts to negotiate this situation can end up being the person who is the victim of it.. If you take the old bibles concept of an eye for an eye you than have two kids with cracked heads that serve no useful purpose. In life the mediator is ever so important and that is a large part of governments purpose to me or in others words it should create continuity within the whole. I don't know what type of government covers this clause.

Unfortunately as in the case of Enron we have a bunch of mediators and who don’t believe in meditation. The perpetrator of the crime walked off with an income but the victims are left with pennies. By creation of the color of gray there is no right method or wrong method . The result, our system is hell bent on proving no one has any responsibility to anyone. It takes courage to be responsible to and for people.
