Ashcroft is a right-wing sexist extremist who is unfortunately our Attorney General even though he and Bush do not believe that you are entitled necessarily to due process of the law. Look at the people he has arrested and holds in captivity without charging them with a crime. In some instances, he will not allow those he has arrested to speak to a lawyer. Ashcroft wants to destroy the records of those who purchased guns within 24 hours. ( See: siliconinvestor.com Last Sunday night on 60 Minutes, a small boy testified how a priest in Louisiana raped him repeatedly from the time he was 8 or 9 years old. The priest kept a gun on the bed and threatened to harm the little boy and his family. If John Ashcroft had his way, the record that recorded the priest's purchase of the gun would have been destroyed after 24 hours. Is this the kind of person you want to seve as the Attorney General of the United States of America? Look at Bush and Ashcroft are sexist attitude towards women. They refuse to ratify a treaty that bans discrimination against women even though 169 other countries have banned horrific acts against women.
