I agree with that. That is not a question. The question is are they willing to come to the table to negotiate. They are the fundamentalists and their politics requires them to settle by the sword. And with Ariel Sharon, their ally in a similar way of thinking, they are having a heyday. What amuses me is that Sharon is barking up a wrong tree by going after Arafat.

I saw a report that Hezbollah may be planning an attack on Israel from southern Lebanon.

If true, I hope that the government of Iran would be able to use any influence that they may have with Hezbollah, to stop a possible attack. I think the President would view it as an important gesture of trust, and would help the President to select what he believes is the best plan for the entire region.

I also think that such an important gesture of trust on the part of the Iranians could facilitate the Presidents cooperation in addressing any unique concerns that the Iranians may have, once the region is moving towards peace.
