I've done that so many times here it's pathetic. At least Newsmax.com is up-front and honest about its leanings and doesn't try and fool the readers.

Face it flapjack, you've been snookered for years and only recently have been exposed to the other side of the arguments. After living for so many years in a tunnel visioned world of "Dan Rather is unbiased" your eyes have just recently been 'peeked' open. Challenging the assumptions you've lived with for so long disturbs you so much, you repeatedly complain about it.

Unlike yourself, I read online sites such as newsmax.com, and MotherJones.com. I read the Wall Street Journal, and I read Investors Business Daily, I read the Washington Post and I read the Washington Times, and many, many more. Then I come to my own conclusions regarding what the truth is behind a particular event or story. I've even created my own quick access webpage to make the effort easy.

Have fun if you're not afraid. :)

Check this out. The left are so gullible they occasionally are humorous.

Beijing paper falls for gag in American tabloid

BEIJING, June 7 (Reuters) - Beijing's most popular newspaper has unwittingly republished a
bogus story about U.S. Congress threats to skip town for Memphis or Charlotte unless
Washington builds them a new Capitol building with a retractable dome.

The source? America's celebrated spoof tabloid, the Onion.

The Beijing Evening News, which claims a circulation of 1.25 million, translated portions of
the Onion's tall tale word-for-word in the international news page of its June 3 edition.

The reprinted version of the May 29 article, which parodies Congress as a Major League
Baseball squad, also copied the Onion's would-be blueprint for a new legislative home that
resembles a ballpark.

"Don't get us wrong: We love the drafty old building," the Onion jestingly quoted House
Speaker Dennis Hastert saying.

"But the hard reality is, it's no longer suitable for a world-class legislative branch. The sight
lines are bad, there aren't enough concession stands or bathrooms, and the parking is
miserable."

The spoof from the brazen entertainment tabloid, which dubs itself "America's finest news
source," apparently took in the Evening News.

"The story was written by one of our freelance writers," an editor at the Evening News told
Reuters on Friday. "His stuff has been pretty much reliable before."

The editor said he had received other calls from readers about the article. "They were also
suspicious of the contents."

Told the story came from the Onion and was not true, the editor said, "We would first have to
check that out. If it's indeed fake, I'm sure there will be some form of correction."

Then of course there is Bernard Goldberg.
Think the media are biased? CONSERVATIVES HAVE BEEN crying foul for years, but now a veteran CBS reporter has come forward to expose how liberal bias pervades the mainstream media. Even if you've suspected your nightly news is slanted to the left, it's far worse than you think.

Bottom line for me, I know Newsmax is slanted, anyone can see that, but in light of the magnitude of the biased "mainstream" media and it's effects of public opinion, your constant carping about Newsmax seems silly to me.

BTW, Liberalism seeks mind control on nearly every campus in America, here's another example.

Strange times at Santa Monica High

What causes poverty?

A Santa Monica, Calif., high school teacher required his class to write an essay to address this question. Steve Miller, one of his students, attributed three things to poverty – violent crime, government programs and irresponsible breeding.

"In the United States," wrote Miller, "over the last 30 years, five trillion dollars (equated) have been spent battling poverty with no noticeable improvement. Furthermore, according to the same study, when benefits for poor families are increased by one percent of the average personal income, the number of poor people living in a state increases by .8 percent." His teacher, a Bush-bashing, self-described liberal, gave him a low score of 58 out of 70.

An A-student in the class, Miller thought the grade unfair, a possible retaliation by the teacher against the young man's non-liberal worldview. To check, Steve approached a poor student in his class, and asked whether he might see his paper. That student wrote, "Economics is another reason that there is (sic) a lot of homeless people in the world, no job offers or anything. Some people are getting paid really low wages and they need the money sometimes so they can feed their kids or even thereselves (sic). welfare (sic) is really hard to get." This student, too, received a 58.

What's worse, the poor student admitted that he began and finished his essay, barely over a page double-spaced, at around 4 o'clock that very morning. After asking the teacher to reconsider his grade – a request that was declined – Miller appeared on my radio show. He talked about liberal teachers who dislike non-liberal views, and who, in Miller's opinion, punish students for politically incorrect thinking.

Miller raised other issues. The California Education Code requires that grades K-12 "shall conduct patriotic exercises," interpreted to mean some patriotic activity like the Pledge of Allegiance. At Santa Monica High, however, administrators ignore the requirement. Miller asked several school officials to implement the policy, but officials informed Miller that they considered the Pledge of Allegiance optional, and refused to require its daily recitation.

Miller also questioned why a group called MEChA – Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan – receives student funds. After all, argued Miller, a look at MEChA's Web site indicates the group's intention to "retake" Southwestern America: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and Nevada. This suggests, says Miller, a violent overthrow of America, something seemingly inconsistent with school policy. Why, Miller earlier asked several administrators, does MEChA enjoy school support and funding?

Some months earlier, at Miller's request, I spoke at Santa Monica High School. Before my speech, however, an administrator informed me that they intended to invite a liberal speaker to "provide balance" to my non-liberal views. But Miller informed my listeners that, since my appearance, the school has invited liberal speakers, with no non-liberal speaker apparently necessary to provide "balance."

A Santa Monica High School administrator, following Miller's appearance on my show, met with him for over an hour. The administrator spent half of the session accusing Miller of untrustworthiness, essentially for airing dirty linen. "How do I know I can trust you?" said the administrator. In describing the meeting, Miller said, "[The administrator] mentioned that you [Elder] were more aggressive, that you were paid to incite emotion, and that liberal speakers weren't trying to change minds, but were recounting life experiences. He said regarding speakers like you [Elder], he had to be mindful of the impact and safety. He told me he wished I wasn't so 'narrow-minded.'"

Why does an Elder speech require balance, but a conservative did not follow a recent speech by a liberal? The administrator informed Miller that Elder "attempted to change minds," while other liberal speakers simply expressed their own personal experiences!? And, finally and incredibly, the administrator advised Miller not to "latch on to causes"!

What about at the collegiate level? The Center for the Study of Popular Culture examined the political registration of Ivy League humanities professors. Their conclusion? Ivy League professors are 19 times more likely to be Democrats than Republicans. (Fifty-seven percent Democrat, 3 percent GOP). "All that this survey shows," said David Horowitz, president of the Center, "is what we already know, that the elite universities are subsidiaries of the Democratic Party and the political left." Diversity? Of the 10 presidents of the California university system, all opposed Proposition 209, the successful ballot initiative to rid race and gender preferences in public hiring, contracting and college and university admissions.

Many American students study under welfare-state-supporting, gun-grabbing, Constitution-ignoring leftists who suppress dissent. A recent 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling upheld the race-based admissions policy of the University of Michigan School of Law. The rationale? The state of Michigan has a compelling state interest to seek diversity. But, as Steve Miller's experience at Santa Monica High School suggests, the term "diversity" means that of race, not of opinion.

Leaked Rove Disk: Hutchison, Bob Smith Races Tight
Sunday, June 16, 2002
newsmax.com

A computer disc containing an analysis of the upcoming 2002 November election prepared by a White House political operative fell into the hands of a Senate Democrat aide, according to reports in Roll Call and the Washington Post.

The Democrat aide, who has distributed it, claimed he found the disk lying on a sidewalk.

The analysis, prepared by President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, and White House political director Ken Mehlman, consists primarily of publicly available information such as poll results and data from past elections.

It revealed only one piece of information not already in the public domain: White House speculation that Republican senators Tim Hutchinson of Arkansas and Bob Smith of New Hampshire are in grave danger of being defeated in November.

While admitting that he had no idea how the document leaked, Mehlman told Roll Call that the map that indicated the two senators' poor chances is "an old map," adding that "Those characterizations are not accurate."

"All of those races are races where our candidates are in a strong position to put these elections away. I think Tim Hutchinson will win the race," he said, adding that the five GOP challengers in Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and South Dakota "are in a much stronger position than Mark Pryor," Hutchinson's opponent in Arkansas. And he said that New Hampshire will stay competitive because of the late primary.

Democrats are enjoying the leaked document caper. "This ain't bad for a White House that's supposed to be leak-proof," one senior Democratic aide told Roll Call, adding that "Somebody better tell 'Boy Wonder' [Rove] to get the hole in his suit jacket fixed."

But the circumstances strongly indicate that the story of how the document came into the possession of a Democrat aide when he found it on a sidewalk may not be the whole story. Cynics say that it's too much of a coincidence to believe that the disc just happened to be found by a Democrat Senate aide who just happened to lean over and pick it up.

The 27-page Power Point document, a copy of which was viewed by NewsMax.com, is loaded with charts that illustrate the details involved in the upcoming elections.

Among the presentation's conclusions:

Control of Congress will turn on a handful of races decided by local issues, candidate quality, money raised, campaign performance, etc.

One Party Will Make History.
For Republicans:

The party in the White House has won House seats in only three out of last 25 midterm elections.

The White House party has lost Senate seats in 16 of 22 midterms since direct elections began.
For Democrats: Only three times has either party gained House seats four elections in a row.

The Republican Party is in a strong position.
Congressional Republicans and Democrats are at parity in the generic ballot - Republicans trailed in 1994.

Where Democrats get their money (2000 Figures):
AFL-CIO $45.0 million
Emily's List $20.0 million
Planned Parenthood $14.0 million (Is it any surprise Democrats support abortion?)
NAACP $11.0 million
Sierra Club $ 9.5 million
NEA $ 9.0 million
NARAL $ 8.0 million
Handgun Control $ 5.0 million
LCV $ 4.0 million

2000 totals $125.5 million

Democratic Strategy:
Support president on war.

Question president's Middle East strategy.

Attack on domestic agenda - Social Security, health care costs, environment, education.

Use budget, tax cuts and Enron for class warfare.

Divide president and congressional Republicans.

Maximize outside resources.

Republican Strategy:

Focus on war and economy.

Promote compassion agenda - education, welfare, faith.

Highlight Democrats' obstructionism on judges, agenda.

Mobilize GOP base, reach out to Hispanics, unions, African-Americans.

Create strong teamwork between White House, political committees and members.

Maximize outside resources and create new forums.
