The US is the only country in the world that is expected to accept every person, no matter how sick, mentally ill, criminal, uneducated or otherwise ill-prepared they are to live a civil, self-sufficient life in a democratic society.

Go anywhere else and try that.

ronald reagan said that a country without borders really isn't a country anymore. so i guess the US is not a country anymore, we are simply what theodore roosevelt termed, "a polyglot boarding house for the world". just wait until the next terrorist strike hits. then we will see just how open people want the borders.
