Hi MSI, I lived in Juneau in the mid-1980's. One of the projects that I worked on was a new middle school that was built on ground that had been beneath the Mendenhall Glacier as late as 1916. The recession of the glaciers has been going on for a century, but the rate at which they are now receding is unprecedented, as far as I know.
