I think you would be surprised to find out how similar the canal, railroad, automotive, radio and PC bubbles were to the Internet bubble. They range in size (the railroads and the internet are the largest) but each has their own pyramid schemes and accounting scandals. It was actually scary at how similar all these bubbles look. I actually think that the dotcom bubble has burst and a recovery has started in that one, now much smaller, segment. The telecom bubble is another story and will take the rest of the decade to recover.
