Lee, Dr. Richebacher mentioned this alleged lunch conversation in one of his letters. Dr R referred to the other party as a friend but gave no identity. In the early 1970s AG allegedly said that he would love to be the Fed chairman as K -wave winter approached because thought he could prevent K wave winter by printing sufficient quantities of money but admitted if it did not work we would suffer the worst depression in history. I have never heard the name of the other party so this is all unsubstantiated heresay. I would say that Dr. R has an excellent reputation and rarely prints unsupported assertions. Paul Volcker and the head of the bundesbank both spoke at Dr. R's retirement dinner. he was Chief Economist at Dresdner Bank - 2nd largest Bank in germany. mike
