(I seem to detect a sarcastic tone.) I do believe we're close to a bottom, but am not taking a position as to whether it's a relatively minor short term bottom or something more significant. The primacy of the Fear Factor in moving the Market around means that we're at the mercy of day to day events even more so than is usual.

Remember, when a person can't express even a tepidly bullish opinion without being ridiculed, that's a sign of rampant bearishness. I can remember being ridiculed in early 2000 by relatives and acquaintences for my skeptical reaction to the exponential rises in stocks with no earnings and no immediate plan for achieving them.
