Michael, it seems the "hedge funds" can keep the indexes floating up, merely by keeping MSFT, IBM, INTC and a couple of other large caps levitated. There is nothing intrinsic supporting a rise in MSFT from 49 to 55, other than the effect on the OEX and the SPX that such support creates.

Michael, essentially, your views mirror my own but I'd call the coming week 'treading water in a whirlpool'. We might get a decent one-two day rally in it, but it won't be anything to write to Aunt Matilda about back home.
