I agree totally. "Retirement" (as it has been conceived) will one day be as rare as a paid-off house is today among the boomers. Anyway, it is only in the past 40-50 years that an able-bodied older person without savings did not work as a matter of course. Middle-class people were savers because working in old age was considered inappropriate or shameful.
