Interesting about the Germans... and their pride could very well be their undoing. I think the 8 x 0 win over the Saudis really went to their heads. they tied Ireland and Cameroon really did not show much. Paraguay could have done the trick, [but I am glad they did not as I cannot stand their loud-mouth]

The Germans, thinking about Mexico, are probably remembering the team they defeated in the quarter finals (in penalties) in Mexico in 1986, and the one they took out in the second round in 1994 (2 x 1 --in a close game)... and that's ok, let them assume as much.

This is a different team, and is perfectly capable of taking out the Germans... I am not saying they will walk over them, but it is possible to beat them. My point is, not too long ago they were complaining how bad a team they had that barely qualified and now, after their 8 x 0 win over the Saudis, they are thinking World Champions ??? HELLO !! they seem to suffer of ADD -g

As for the US.... well, if that's the case, then I hope that the USA plays as inspired as they did with Portugal and takes the air out of their bratwurst-mit-kartofel-filled head -LOL

Too early to really know, but the fact that they are already celebrating they have made it to the semis, does not bode well for the Germans.

Confidence is good, over-confidence is like getting indigestion, and I hope they choke on it. (Hey George, we are in agreement now) -g

The more I read about coach Aguirre, the moreI like him... all he is really doing with those comments about fatigue is playing the psychological card, particularly against the European teams, (and a little to the USA team since I think he mentions that there are 12 US members of the US that play in Europe. However, he is right, I will admit.

I like his style, he is confident without being an obnoxious Kartoffelsäcken -gg

On Brasil... I am thinking they are slowly increasing the odds in their favor. They do NOT have the pressure of other cups and they are playing the "jogo bonito" once again...

Fom an interview about the Brasil of their golden era...

Na época, o negócio dos jogadores de futebol do Brasil era mais a boemia. Não tinham a preparação adequada para jogar bola, pois eram todos amadores.

At the time, the business of the football players of Brazil was more [being a] bohemian. They did not have the adjusted preparation to play ball, therefore they were all lovers of the game.

If Brasil can ignite the magic again... forget all speculations, predictions, voodoo, santos and magic chickens... Brasil will be World Champion once again.
