We still have a lot in common, and I'm so glad. We have been emailing but I haven't seen her in ten years, so it was great to see her. I had driven down to Southern California to visit my mom, and I took my mom out to San Marino where my friend lives. We went out to eat at a lovely Indian restaurant. My mom cannot walk too well now, and I don't think she'll be with me much longer, so it was good to be out and share a new experience with her, and have her meet my friend. My mom and I also went to see The Fast Runner, and The Importance of Being Earnest and About a Boy- my mom fell asleep in all three of the movies, but it was fun to be out with her anyway. And I told her what she missed. We met some really nice people in The Importance of Being Earnest- because my mother's hearing aide rolled away and these lovely ladies helped us find it. Turns out they were ushers at South Coast Rep- so they were super good at finding lost items on a theatre floor. The Fast Runner was glorious. We had to drive quite a long way to catch it, but it was absolutely thrilling. It is three hours- but I couldn't believe it when it was over. It felt like an hour at the most. I think you would love it Coug. The natural world of the arctic is like another character in the movie.
