But the ruse is the US must attack Iraq because it is in violation of a UN resolution. Seems we use the UN as a foil when it suits US policy, and ignore it otherwise. Say, did the US every pay up on its overdue UN dues ? China is far more a military threat to the US than Iraq, but I don't hear anyone saying bomb China. May that's cause China can fight back, and Iraq is second-rate. What does Iraq have to do with terrorism anyway ? Hussein will be dead in a few years from medical problems, why waste the effort. I think the latter point is critical. Apparently, the US must kill him before he dies, otherwise there is no "great victory". Also would help to do it a week or two before the Nov. elections.
