Gentlemen:

Thank you all for enlightenment over the years as I have perused your comments.

Today, I have a problem which I hope you all can help me with. I bought a Compaq Presario 2700 portable which I have enjoyed for a month or so. However, when I tried to download some map information to my GPS, I was startled to realize that my portable does not have a serial port. Instead there are two USB ports. My problem is that the cable for my GPS has a serial connector and that is the connection the GPS software is expecting.

Anybody have an idea of how to over come this problem?

Thanks,

TraderEd
