I think the system goes astray when we have not a POV being expressed but the formation of a "distinct society" within an existing society such as the "Quebecois" in Canada or the so called "First Nations" of Canada. I think abortion is murder but that is just my POV. I don't want to finance it anymore than I want to finance another persons pregnancy. The extortion of tax dollars for things the majority don't agree with eventually leads to the collapse of democratic structures. It makes no sense at all that a majority would want to so organize except in defense against minority groups who have lost their bearings. The so called majority might want to organize in their own rational self-interest. This is of course "self-centered" but who bettered to be centered around than self?
