Savant, et.al.: NY Times mention of SIDT.

I bailed on my SIDT holdings a while back, simply because I got tired of the equity going nowhere. I still monitor it, however, as I figure if they ever get it together there'll be plenty of time to jump back in.

Anyway, in the online segment of the NY Times Science section there's an article entitled, "It Slices! It Dices! Nanotube Struts Its Stuff!"

nytimes.com

It's a story about all the wonderous things nanotubes are capable of, most of which avid followers of SIDT, etc., probably already understand. Be that as it may, within the article SIDT is mentioned. Here's the excerpt:

" Another trick is that when a voltage is applied along a nanotube, it shoots out electrons, like a cathode ray tube at the back of a television tube, but much, much smaller.

"We basically take the C.R.T. and flatten it by putting millions of electron guns instead of one gun," said Dr. Zvi Yaniv, president of SI Diamond Technology of Austin, Tex. SI Diamond has developed nanotube displays for lighted billboards like those in Times Square, but at a quarter of the cost of L.E.D.'s.

Samsung of Korea has also latched onto this idea and plans to begin selling large flat-panel televisions that are lighted by thin layers of nanotubes in late 2003."

I suppose one can infer from the Samsung commentary that patent payments will flow SIDT's way? Anyway, FYI!
