It may well get to 8 again. It is the Vix's place within its recent range that is important, as it measures the changing compacency amongst options writers, and therefore is a clue as to the changes in the supply/demand relationship. The absolute value on its own means nothing. If VIX averages 8, then we will be looking for signals probly between 5 and 15.
