We don't have Costco locally, but at Sam's, you usually have to get the area salesperson paged if you need info. Warehouse stores aren't much into hand-holding, which is part of their charm, if you know what you're doing. Sam's does sometimes have manufacturer reps or even local sales staff flogging particular products, though, e.g. doing demos or samples on the floor & stuff. To belabor the obvious, more than likely, the Cosco guy was being paid to flog P4s.

RE:"I had an interesting experience at Costco couple of months ago."

LOL!... Very interesting story indeed.

I remember when I bought a Gateway 750Mhz long ago, the guy was only telling me about his dual P3 500Mhz. I've try to educate him to no avail.

Here in my town (north-EST of Montreal) I often feel like being in underdeveloped country. Because the $US is so high we are offered only dirty-cheap units. The higher P4 available was a 1.7Ghz, at $1700 CAN$ while the AMD XP 2000+ was $2000 CAN$.

1 CAN$ = 64¢US

My son works at an electronic retailer and the only
qualification to work there was to accept a salary
close to the minimum wage. By the way, he says they now
have an adequate supply of Athlon XP's but some
computer enthusiasts are holding off buying
waiting for Hammer.
