>>Also, you seem to have forgotten about the allegation that Anthony attempted to extort money from certain CEO's. Do you suppose they were Anthony's childhood friends too? Would it make the extortion charge less valid if they were?<<

Somehow, these extortion allegations are so far out of character that it the whole case seems to be made up. From everything I've read, he wanted to "punish" the stock and scamers. Another reason is that extortion can be easily proven. With just a little of up-front money, the extortioner can be trapped. Whatever anyone may think about Tony, I haven't read of anyone that thought him to be that stupid. The whole case reads more like a conspiracy than anything else. Just hit the news with everything that can be thought of and hope some of it can be made to stick.

Edscharp,

In all fairness to Bob, he did mention the extortion allegations involving the CEO's.

Seems to me that it's very likely that the only "case" the government might be able to make against him is that he extorted or tried to extort shares from companies in return for "calling off the dogs" (is that more illegal than an IR firm accepting shares as payment to sing a company's praises?) or that he intentionally disseminated false information about companies, and I sure haven't seen any details yet regarding that allegation.

Wonder how a fed agent manages to be childhood friends with a convicted drug felon? If you check the oklahoma dept of corrections website i think you may find derek cleveland has served time in the past as well. IMMSC, he served 2 years and had 2 separate offences, both different charges

No, I'm saying it looks to me like the government may have to settle for only a pair of charges, one of which is the extortion charge.

And something I hadn't thought about until now, but someone else's comment about that being out of character for him kinda strikes me.

And that is that the extortion charge and it being out of character for what we know about Anthony (and one of my first comments about this was that if that charge is true, it's going to be one of the most disappointing things I've heard) begs the question: "Did he receive money or shares for his silence, or is that only an allegation being leveled by one or a number of company executives who, by virtue of them having been targeted by Anthony in the first place, are likely not exactly well-known for the veracity of everything they tell people."

Or, in a language other than Bob-eze, are the folks alleging extortion the same folks who are illegally heading up public companies, or have lied before?

For example, if the CEO of UPCA claims Anthony tried to extort shares from him, that'd be a relevant bit of information as I think most of us would dismiss that allegation right away. And we're obviously way smarter than Breen. hehe
