that is why you are called an instructor
If you want to get A and B work from students who are not brilliant, or who do not think the way you do, you had better tell them how to give you that work (imo)

When I hire a contractor I tell him what I want, I don't expect him to read my mind. I think many teachers are disappointed when their students fail to read their minds effectively. I feel that when students do not perform at a high level, it is often the fault of the teacher or instructor. I think one of the most important things we teach is how to learn, how to think, and how to figure out what other people expect. Although there are many people in life who have high expectations for us, without telling us what those expectations are, I do not support that way of being.
