I understand that real estate prices in the Bay Area went out of control as Silicon Valley settled in.......

It amuses me to hear you and Neo talk about places being "too far." He talks of an hour drive home. That's peanuts for here -- we attend a theater series in Everett, Washington, and go to the Sunday matinees since if we went to any evening shows we would have to spend the night in a motel (or in our car) since we would miss the last ferry. To attend a two hour play requires that we leave home about 6:45 in the morning and arrive back home about 7:30 at night. To go to the Seattle art museum is a full day trip, at a minumim. Would that I could attend functions and only face a one hour, or even two or three hour, drive home!
