Nevertheless, the ITU defines 3G as having fixed data transmission rates exceeding 2 mbps for walking or fixed users and 384 kbps for a travelling user. It's clear that 1xrtt does not deliver on the latter, but DO definitely does on the former. itu.int In practice, I'll be very surprised if EDGE reaches 3G speeds though there is no doubt that it will be pimped by the Cabal as 3G.
