It may just be a misdirection campaign, played against our people by 'star canary Abu Zubaydah, an unsavory al-Qaeda operative whose Guantánamo debriefing sparked last month's flurry of warnings from Tom Ridge' Message 17615100 Speculation is that al-Qaeda is tossing us low level (and often American :) operatives, and other misdirection... in an effort to keep us off the scent of the REAL heavy hitters as long as possible. But, even if it's misdirection and lies from al-Qaeda, it served the political interests of the White House very well (which was to move the news cycle off of the CIA/FBI hearings... just as earlier rounds of warnings were curiously timed when Enron was topping the fold in newspapers around the country.)
