Hi Bob,

I haven't got an answer for you based on your description and the remedies you tried to employ. I've been down that route myself.

There is a thread at SI where some knowledgeable folks hang out. Perhaps copying your questions there would be useful:

Good Luck, Ray

Hi Bob,

I have found that an XP install with critical updates from MS is not enough to have a stable system. You still need to separately install M/B drivers from the installation CD or better, from the Mfg. website. Even then, some drivers do not have registered certificates but it is still better than not to do it.

This worked for me if you haven't tried it yet.
