All defensive measures against 9/11 attacks were in place and functioning, albeit imperfectly. Far from imperfect. Borderline negligent is a better characterization. Airport security was a sham. The FBI didn't act on good information. Now get out and help instead of sniping at Bush all the time. Not a problem. A balanced approach to the Middle East would be more effective and a lot less costly than our current approach. Impose a solution in the ME. Move Israel to its 1967 borders. Create a viable Palestinian state with water rights. Offer them 110 percent of what they want. Withdraw support from the Palestinians if they don't agree. Withdraw support from Israel if they don't agree. If Israel thinks that is too good of a deal for the Palestinians then let Israel have that deal and Palestinians the Israeli deal. The Arab nations will withdraw support from the radical elements in their society. Zeuspaul
