It is a bit errie to read that and compare the time and date.

However, assuming bin Laden as the impetus behind the 9/11 terrorist attack was not a great leap for anyone politically in the know on that day.

I, too, that very morning, around the same time, I recall making a comment to a colleague, as we were observing the tragedy on television, that it was likely Afghanastan would get blasted as part of the U.S. response.

But I couldn't agree with you more. The opening paragraph of the risknreward post is a bit mind-boggling.

That first 'risknreward' post was a good two hours after the WTC attack. Almost every newscaster at that point had id'ed bin Laden as the most likely suspect. That morning I plugged into the BBC live feed on the internet and they were also surmising that bin Laden was behind the attack.

Not exactly an act of prescience on his part.
