>>index manipulation by hedge funds,<<

Not just hedge funds. I thought Susan's comment the other day about wanting to know what the Fed was going to do with all their MSFT shares was funny but to the point. The world economy cannot afford to see the US economy sink. Big money whether be hedge funds, large brokerage houses have much at stake here. The US goverment has much at stake here. I'm sure Greenspan and Co. have the Plunge Protection Team in action.

Yesterday if you were watching the one minute NMS nas tick you could see the program buying come in at just the right moments to push the market higher and higher. This wasn't real buying. It was buying to draw attention to hopefully bring new buyers in. Recently we haven't had more sellers as much as we have had a lack of buyers. With complacency at current levels it's easy to get retail to call a bottom. I can't believe all the posts yesterday saying that Friday was the bottom.

I say we go lower intermediate term. Rallies will be violent with short covering and sideliners trying to catch the bottom but bear market rallies non the less.

JMO, Joe
