Ratan Lal:

Although I think a UN supervised plebiscite on the opinion of the Kashmirians on their destiny would be helpful as a reflection of the sentiment of the people in the region it should not be binding on either India or Pakistan.

IMHO, nothing will happen in the region without the concurrence of either country, so we should not tie their hands with the results of some election that neither India or Pakistan could accept.

That aside--I hope you will keep us informed of the results of the LA County referendum on the secession of the San Fernando Valley. What do the polls show on the question?
Is it close?
