First - I don't trade the system because I don't trust it's predictive power yet. I have been using a simple indicator like Williams %R - buy when %R rise above 25, sell when it falls below 75. I only use a single indicator at present.

I haven't thought about combining two or more indicators yet because it just seemed like adding additional fitting parameters.

When I watch intraday charts, I see price bouncing off %R = 25 or %R = 75 levels several times in a row and I trade on a discretionary basis.

When I optimize say two parameters, I don't take the best two values, but instead make a 2D plot and look for a region where parameters produce profitable trades. On a 2D plot you would see a circle where a lot of profitable trades are made.

I don't know how to combine multiple indicators.

Going short would be the reverse of going long...

I look for between a 50 to 60% win%, but a greater average win then average loss. Also, I want the system to make a lot of trades to help reduce the chance of finding some freak that can't repeat itself again.

Actually, winning % is not a good criterion because a system that exits on the first profitable open can have a high winning % yet lose a lot of money. I look at profit per trade and number of trades.

I guess I have tried multiple indicators a little bit, but I achieved results not much better than using a single indicator.

How do you combine several indicators to make a system?
