My parents didn't help me either.
But I know when I was in school other kids were getting help because their projects looked so much better. When I was in elementary school I internalized it. I figured I just wasn't good at projects. When I got to middle school I realized that some kids had a lot more help on their projects than I did. I don't think it was a particularly salutary experience to realize that.

My daughter would have been happy to internalize the lesson in 4th grade that she was just bad at school. But when I saw the other missions and found out about the kits, I told her what caused the disparity between her efforts and those of some of the other children. I can't say it made her feel a lot better though. Because it didn't.
