My interpretation of your posts leads me to believe you are a discretionary trader. You eyeball indicators and decide what's working well at a given time...

What I am trying to develop is a hardcore computer-analyzed trading system optimized over historical data to predict trades in the future.

Do you optimize the system by computer - or do you use your own thoughts and choices to make the system.

What I am wondering is... is there a relatively simple system that will work effectively? I am leaning towards a discretionary approach - deciding the current trend and trading in the direction. To do that by computer signals alone seems to be too complex or would require a very complex algorithm.
