The key to the Kent State incident is what you've just said:

it is widely believed that these Kent students were mere DUPES used by outsiders who were in among the crowd inciting and leading them. For all we know it was one of them that perhaps fired off a weapon or a firecracker to instigate the entire thing.

Add to that the information about the FBI agent provocateur in the crowd and you most likely have your answer to what happened. The G-man, rather than some foreign agent, was the perpetrator.

This modus operandi was a commonplace for the FBI and its forerunners, the Pinkertons in labor disputed in earlier decades. Deliberate government provocations, by agents placed among non-violent protestors, has been a hallmark of the deceit of our government.

Before you condemn those who are standing up for the truth, honesty and decency, you really ought to examine in the cold light of day the terrible record our government has of cheating, deceiving and lying to the general public, not to mention murdering and gassing us.

Dear JDN:

I hadn't known there was an FBI plant in the crowd until reading this article. I agree he or someone may or may not have fired a shot. I was in school at the time. I remember there was sympathy for both sides, the kids fired upon as well as the young Guardsmen. As you say the students were duped. We'll never know the whole truth. It was a tragedy for all involved.
