Listened to Bill Gross of Pimco today on a conference call. At the end of his "prepared" comments, he said he did not like high yield debt - too risky.

The first question he was asked was why therefore did he buy telecom debt recently. His answer was that all the debt he bought (AWE, Sprint, DT and some others) is investment grade. He acknowledged that some could slide (as Sprint did recently), even to the high end of junk status. However, he felt the risk/reward ratio was acceptable on these bonds.
