That means you have not seen past "diving" and theatrics in soccer...

It was pitiful and this new approach by the reffs has done wonders for the game. A few years ago, you could simply not have the games we are seen lately, as the amount of false diving and theatrics was simply excessive... at first it would work as the referees would eat the performances whole and awarded ridiculous calls.

As for ice hockey...

The problem I have with the violence in that sport is... why call it ice hockey?

If you call it Ice Boxing, then that's ok by me, they can smash their heads all they want, but now we all know.

Real men? Come on.... -g

Even in Rugby, the ill intent is simply non existent, they get banged up in Rugby because they are simply nutz to play w/o any protective gear... My complain about hockey is that when they "check" (that's a roflol) they have the intent to cut the guy in half... I do not believe that should be allowed, I mean to say, there should be a degree of sportsmanship in any sport one plays.... Having an ill intent (as imo exists in hockey), has nothing to do with sportsmanship, i.e. to recognize one's skill to play a specific game...

Is there a skill in plastering a guy against a wall when he is not even looking ? Or smashing a stick on someone's head? I think that's bs.

I do not mind playing rough soccer, SO LONG THERE IS NO ILL INTENT, i.e. go (honestly) for the ball, rough ...that's ok, just don't go for the leg(s) (knees).

For years I played central defense/sweeper, hell I was rough on the strikers, but I always played clean; on the tackles, I always went for the ball...

This diving bs... it is over!! I am glad FIFA took action, the problem with the Italians is that they are trying to get away with an old style of playing and on top they are sore losers as they did a lot of bs in their day and get away with it... today they are simply getting caught.

Instead, they should be developing better players and national team instead of bitching...

Having said that, I am willing to say that they were robbed against Croatia... but that's it.

Everybody knew they had to do a lot better with Korea and... What do they do? Their same old crap... score ONE frigging goal and go to sleep caging themselves in... Well crap on them... the Koreans NEVER gave up, scored and in the OT they scored again.... they outplayed the Italians and now they ought to pack and go home quietly... end of story.
