Luckily, AMD only needs $70 (was it?) per processor.

Revenue numbers are now seen to be $620-$700mm, and a "substantial" operating loss to go with it.

Yowch... Taking the midpoint of Intel's pre- and post-update numbers, and comparing them to AMD's pre- and post-update numbers is somewhat interesting.

Intel cut their numbers roughly 5.2%...
AMD cut their numbers over 23%...

I repeat... Yowch!

"The Company's projection made in connection with the release of first quarter results was for second quarter sales to be within the $820 million to $900 million range."

Overall, a $200M lower forecast. The report also says that AMD flash is expected to show sequential growth, so the major downfall seems to be coming from microprocessors.

This is not possible. Jerry assured us that AMD would be profitable in Q2 because of world class yields, SOI, Thoreaubread, copper, 130 nm, and strategic partnerships.
