John, I am not sure what all the surprise is all about. Units should be down quarter over quarter, ASP's waaay down.

A much better indicator seems to be the Pricewatch pricing. I've been monitoring it closely for some time now and ASPs went down for every single week in Q1 so far. That's why I felt that a warning would be so likely. While you can't draw any conclusions on volumes from Pricewatch you get a relatively good picture on pricing and ultimately demand. The market doesn't seem to "know" about this data so it might be a good idea to buy back into AMD (or buy more if already invested) as soon as ASPs are steadily improving for some weeks. But honestly I don't see this happen until Q4 at the earliest.
