I wonder if he promotes it now? I think that list is more promotional as to leading edge on new ideas than it is a current recommendation. The other mentions appear to have fared better.

Here is a look at several nonconventional therapies. You are right. Cartilege has not proven itself in human studies, although the jury is still out on the matter and there is ongoing research.
