"And the attractiveness of gold is transient of course". The attractiveness of all inherently worthless things is inevitably transient -- we should have learned that much in the tech bubble. But we should also have learned that bubbles run their own course, and there is nothing whatsoever to indicate that gold has run its course -- on the contrary.

Well, at least all you gold bugs agree - the theory behind your bullishness is essentially the same greater fool theory ("demand will rise indefinitely, until it doesn't and I'll get out then, but not any time soon") that drove the tech bubble.
