Micron Technology subpoenaed in DOJ chip probe (MU) By Anne Stanley

Micron Technology (MU) said late Tuesday that is has received a grand jury subpoena seeking information regarding a Department of Justice industry-wide probe into alleged anticompetitive practices among dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) manufacturers. "Micron does not believe it has violated U.S. antitrust laws," Kip Bedard, Micron's vice president of corporate affairs, said in a statement. "The DRAM business is highly competitive and subject to extreme volatility. Competitive forces in today's market have led to DRAM prices reaching unprecedented lows," he said. Micron said it will cooperate fully with the investigation. Micron shares gained 30 cents Tuesday to close at $23.60.
