I don't event see a buck as a worst case scenario. The problem is that many people pay too much attention to earnings for volatile companies in downturn cycle. Losses are very normal.
As far as a buck then amd might potentially ship larger number of chips due to slight increase in demand. If true then margins would be hit worse than by pure revenue decrease. The differential would be shifted toward faster depreciation of equipment which is positive but not as obvious as earnings.
re Intel, while it is not obvious Intel is in worse position than amd. While amd recognizing it's losses Intel shifting them into the future.
Like I already said, it is not abnormal for volatile companies to have large deviation from expected. I am still an amd bull and the only bad thing that I see is the risk of buy-out.
