It looks like Korea is on track for subscriber growth similair to May in June....they added 297,000 subs in May.

Mobile Phone Subscribers Rise Due to World Cup Marketing

The nation's telecom companies including SK Telecom, KTF and LG have been seeing a steady increase in new subscribers in June. The nation's largest mobile carrier SK, had 96,000 new subscribers during the first half of this month to reach a total of some 16.4 million.

KTF gained 38,000 new subscribers in the June first to 13th period, recording a total of 10.1 million, while LG Telecom also saw its new subscribers increase by 1,000, to post 4.3 million, in rise backed by active marketing of World Cup games.

The three telecom operators have been holding various World Cup marketing events since last month, offering cash or gifts to lucky subscribers when Korea wins and highlighting commercials showing improved quality of services.
