Morning rant: I got some postcards from MCI a few weeks ago. They related to some cell phones I had at least five years ago and have long since been discarded and cancelled. The postcards said that starting this month there would be a minimum $3 per month charge for the long distance service on those phones. If I didn't want to pay, I had to call and cancel. I am lucky I guess that I didn't move in the past five years, or I would never have gotten these postcards and they would have started charging my credit card or something. When I called to cancel, the recording said I couldn't cancel until I switched over to a new provider. I eventually got a live person to take care of it, but it was a PITA. This smells like a scam to me, and my guess is the class action lawyers will be all over it like flies on sh*t pretty soon. Too bad we can't short WCOM anymore. <g>
