I really wish that you would link a site where we could all see the statistics. You can easily say that people over 55 are uninsured, but please document your statements with evidence. Include the disability roles also if you could.

I'm not saying you are wrong Kenneth, I'm saying I don't know where to find this information.

Dear Kenneth and Moenmac: I cant show you a reference, but I can tell you many people retire prior to age 65 and find getting insurance is a major hassle. In my case, and many that I know of, my wife (much younger than I) continues to work for the sole reason of providing group insurance to us. Luckily, I will reach 65 before she reaches an age that she wants to retire at, but I know others with meaningless partime jobs again solely for insurance purposes. Its a real hassle, but even excluding that, I believe that my proposal would BE GOOD for Medicare not a negative for reasons I stated originally. Yet, govt doesnt do this SENSIBLE option. I am not asking for a handout, merely an opportunity to get into a huge pool. JDN
