Great news item. God bless the Italians. First they play like they're extras in "Saving Private Ryan" hoping their dives and acting skills will get them a speaking part, then they piss and moan about someone scoring a goal on them after they went catatonic. Che maleducato. The Europeans always liked the World Cup best when it boiled down to 6 European teams and Brazil and Argentina for the quarter finals. Senegal, USA, Korea and Turkey (no, Turkey was never one of the European teams they were thinking of)!! What is the world (cup) coming to? No Holland, no Ireland, no France, and now no Italy for the Cup.

Slowly the world in the World Cup keeps getting bigger.

Softechie, I remember Salt Lake City 2002, where Korea went ape-s**t over a disqualification in short track speed skating that cost them the gold. They complained that the officiating was biased toward the "crowd favorite." As a result, let's just say that (sadly) Apollo Ohno should avoid any Korean restaurant in the Puget Sound area.

Seems like we've now come full-circle. Korea gets revenge by scoring a tying goal against America. (The speed-skating imitation by the scorer was a nice touch, by the way.) Korea also ends up saving America from first-round elimination. And now Korea's opponents are complaining about the officials being biased toward the "crowd favorite."

Ladies and gentlemen, it's all sports. The home team will always have an advantage. Get over it, Italy.
