Just to illustrate how quickly color screens are going to become mainstream....this is from Nokia's analyst update meeting.

In 2003, Nokia expects more than 50% of its handset volume shipments to have color screens.

I doubt that Nokia was above 5% in 2001.

Defense contracts announced Thursday:
-Cree Inc. (CREE) is being awarded an $11.43 million cost share
contract that will be estimated government cost share of $8.79 million
and an estimated contractor cost share of $2.65 million for the
research and development of a 4" Diameter 4H SiC Semi-insulating
Substrates, SiC Epitaxy, Gallium Nitride Epitaxy, and associated
Material Device Correlation for RF Applications. This contract
supports a coordinated DARPA sponsored Wide Bandgap
Semiconductor Technology Initiative Program and is anticipated to
contribute to the advancement of high power, more compact radars.
This contract contains options, which if exercised will bring the total
cumulative value of the contract to $15.3 million. Work will be
performed in Durham N.C. (82%) and Goleta, Calif. (18%), and is to
be completed by January 2004.
