I just watched that Linda Ellerby Nick News show on non-traditional families and am reporting, as promised. I thought they did a really good job with it, well calibrated and quite sensitive. Even Buchanan was good. He made the point that God loves all of us and that intolerance and hatred are wrong. He seemed earnest and sincere. The rest of the show had the requisite mix of kids and adults and there was a range of opinion from "it's cool to have two mommies" to "God says it's wrong but it's not the kid's fault and I couldn't have her visit my home but I would not call her names and I would be nice to her." Ellerby made a point of distinguishing between acceptance and tolerance and you could see that they were going for tolerance, not acceptance. I don't see how anyone could object to that. Stopped raining. Swim now.
