How do you suggest they do that? Sell Flash memory and eliminate CPUs?
lol

I haven't the foggiest clue, but I can tell you that their present course is one headed for failure. Perhaps they could find a niche and make some nice profits. The Southwest Air analogy isn't perfect, but here's a company with a relatively small part of the passenger air market with a market cap larger than the three largest players combined - TIMES TWO!

There are many Intel bulls who feel that the sole purpose of Jerry Sander's AMD is to damage Intel. As I look at these facts, I might find myself in agreement.

Jim, Re: "If AMD would give up the quest to "be like Intel" and just strive to make a nice profit margin, I have no doubt they would be rewarded by the market"

For starters, they could give up on the notion of winning market share by sacrificing profit margins. If they sold their CPUs at higher prices, I could see Intel raising theirs as well. IMO, it's better to be profitable with smaller market share, then to challenge the incumbent and destroy that profitability.
