As Tom Friedman recently pointed out Iran is a theocracy trying to become a democracy. The worst thing we can do is give the old theocrats there a threat from the US. It works for them as well as for W in prolonging their grip on power. They are changing on their own. Very few other countries in the arab world are even trying to be a democracy.
