Yeah, right. I think everyone overestimates Intel's fear of this possibility.

I state the obvious: Intel is not bound by anything to make a profit every quarter.


Tenchusatsu, why do you think this price war was started? INTC's been told two things: don't lose any more market share to AMD and stay profitable. You may not be worried but I guarantee you your bosses are.

INTC never expected the Athlon and AMD to eat into its revenues and profits like it had...........Barrett was pretty much asleep at the wheel. But about a year ago, the slumbering giant awoke.....in fact, I posted about it at the time........or rather, it was prodded awake. INTC isn't going down by any stretch of the imagination but AMD isn't going away either.........not while Sanders still lives.
